Free rabies shot from state vet

Rabies vaccination dates for Westville, Pinetown, Wyebank. Hillcrest, Winston Park and New Germany

THE state vet department has released dates for free rabies inoculations, in Westville, Pinetown, Wyebank. Hillcrest, Winston Park and New Germany, starting from Monday, 16 November.

Pet owners are urged to inoculate their cats and dogs against rabies in this inoculation campaign.

The state vet advises pet owners that the campaign will be a shortened version of previous campaigns due to the backlog formed during the Covid-19 lockdown period.

Times have been increased at all venues to accommodate the public during this shortened campaign. People should adhere to Covid regulations, safe distancing and masks at all times. Sanitising of hands will be done at writer’s tables.

The dates and venues are as follows: 

Monday, 16 November – 8.30am to 11am; Hillcrest Primary open parking lot opposite Remedial. From 11.30am to 2pm; Waterfall health clinic open field off Link Road. 

Tuesday, 17 November – 8.30am to 11am; opposite Winston Park Primary School Gillitts, sports field parking lot corner of Jan Smuts Avenue and and Roosevelt Road. From 11.30am to 2pm; Kloof Town Hall parking lot, corner of Old Main and Village Road.

Wednesday, 18 November – 8.30am to 11am; St Johns Checkers parking lot near old car wash. From 11.30am to 2pm; Ashley Sports Club parking lot off Russel Street. 

Thursday, 19 November – 8.30am to 10am; open space (post box clusters) Daisy Lane off Orchid Avenue Wyebank. From 10.30am to 1pm; New Germany Sports club/Civic Hall, open space corner of East and Harvey Road.

Friday, 20 November – 8.30am to 12pm; Westville Civic Centre off Buckingham Road, near recycling bins open parking lot grounds.
