Snake caught in Cowies Hill Christmas tree

The spotted bush snake was found slithering through the Christmas tree.

LOCAL snake expert, Nick Evans was called out to remove numerous spotted bush snakes on Sunday, the most entertaining catch included finding one of the reptiles slithering though a Christmas tree as living tinsel.

“Spotted bush snakes are the most common snake in the grater Durban area,” he said. “On hot summer days I get 10 to 20 calls a day!”

Evans happily removed the harmless, yet understandably, unwanted Christmas decoration.

“I’m not sure it will find a gecko, their favourite snack, in a Christmas tree,” he laughed.
