Pinetown man rebuilds his life following theft of mobile kitchen
Kwanele Mbatha said to date, his mobile kitchen, which was stolen from the UKZN Westville Campus, is still missing.
PINETOWN resident, Kwanele Mbatha, whose mobile kitchen was stolen from the UKZN Westville Campus, has chosen to rebuild his life from the little he has left and find other means to support himself and his family.
The 30-year-old learnt with great shock on 10 February that his mobile kitchen, which was the only source of income for his staff, was stolen.
In a desperate appeal for assistance from the community, published by the Highway Mail last month, he said he worked hard trying to raise the R56 000 required to buy the mobile kitchen.

Mbatha, owner of Kota Kheyos, has a contract at Edgewood College where he sells take away food to students on campus.
After his post was shared on social media, Mabatha said with great sadness that to date, the mobile kitchen is still missing.
“I have followed every lead, answered every call and went above and beyond to find it. I have been on my lowest point but mentally I have to shift my focus and start thinking positive and start confronting the future. Life is given, I am grateful and I intend to make the most out of that,” he said.
Mbatha thanked everyone who came to his aid, “Media houses, social media influencers and everyone who shared my posts, your support meant a lot.”
