Same spot, same house – second Black Mamba found in Cato Ridge
Nick Evans said he was surprised to be called to remove a second Black Mamba from the same home within a week.
TWO different snakes were found hiding behind the same brick under the same bed in Cato Ridge. For Highway’s snake catcher, Nick Evans, this was something he considered to be extraordinary.
Evans said he received a call on Thursday, October 21 from a panic-stricken Cato Ridge resident. The homeowner said there was a Black Mamba in his house.

“When I was told it was the same house and the snake was under the same bed as the last one, I could not believe it,” said Evans.
When he arrived, the homeowner pointed out where the snake was, “Sure enough, it was exactly where the other one was,” said Evans.

Evans tried using the same trick he used preciously by moving the bed away from the wall and grabbing it from above.
‘It did not work too well. I pulled the mamba up gently, but it started twisting in the tongs. I could see I was going to hurt it, so I let go. It moved along the wall, and I grabbed it further along, by the opposite corner of the bed. This mamba was slightly smaller than last week’s 2.2m specimen,” explained Evans.
