Highway SANBS clinics extend operation hours for festive season
The South African National Blood Service said it is currently facing a severe blood stock shortage in KwaZulu-Natal as there is only two days worth of stock available.
THE South African National Blood Service (SANBS) clinics have implemented extended operational hours, which will give regular and new donors an opportunity to make a life-saving donation this festive season.
The SANBS clinics in the Highway area will be open throughout the festive season, except for December 25 2021 and January 1, 2022.
The blood bank is currently facing a severe blood stock shortage, and it noted that KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) only has enough blood in stock to last two days.
To sustain the province’s need for blood this festive season, the SANBS donor relations officer, Neelashan Govender said the blood service needed the public’s help to increase its blood stock levels.
