WATCH: Viral snake three-some captured in Kloof

According to Evans said this is the first time he had encountered a trio mating around this time of the year.

HIGHWAY snake rescuer Nick Evans had a pretty exciting start to his morning after he was called capture three Spotted Rock snakes wrapped around a pillar in Kloof.

Evans confirmed that the species was Spotted Rock /House Snakes which are non-venomous and very reluctant to bite. “There were two males and one female snake, which feed on lizards, bats, small birds and rodents,” he said.

Evans added that these types of snakes resemble the Rhombic Night Adders as the only difference is that rock snakes have distinct round markings and are more slender than Rhombic Night Adders.

A surprised Evans said this is the first time he had encountered a trio mating around this time and came to the conclusion that not all snakes mate during Spring. Evans will release the trio into a nearby conservancy.
