Durbanites jump on the Tropika Island wave

Hundreds of hopeful Durban residents came out to take their shot at being a contestant on the show. The auditions ran from May 27 until May 29, where the Tropika executives scouted for some fresh faces.

THE hit competition reality show, Tropika Island of Treasure, is back for Season 10 with an all-star celebrity cast.

The show has taken South Africa on a smooth wave of taste and entertainment for more than a decade. This year, the reality show held open auditions in Durban at Mr Price Home at the Pavilion Shopping Centre.

“The audition booths at Mr Price Home stores give fans a chance to stand out from the crowd by showing us the potential talents, strengths and smooth vibes they can bring to the show. They will get to record a video and post to their own social media platforms,” said Miantha Roux, Clover Beverages marketing manager.

Tropika Island of Treasure has taken audiences on island adventures from the Maldives to Zanzibar, Mauritius, Phuket, Mexico, Jamaica, Seychelles and Curaçao in the Caribbean.

“We are excited to be bringing back Tropika Island of Treasure after a year-long Covid-19-induced hiatus. We hope this 10th season will be smoother than any other with a celebration consisting of returning all-star contestants taking their dreams to paradise once again,” said Roux.
