New majorette club celebrates their first wins
The Eagles Majorette club is looking forward to many wins as they celebrate their first.
THE Eagles Majorette Club is preparing for the SA Championship following their very first wins for some of their teams. Founded in November 2022, the club consists of junior and senior teams of girls from seven to 18 years.
Their ladies’ team currently consists of ex-drummies with no age limit. They welcome those with experience or those who have never tried it before.
The team competed at their first competition, held at Forest View Primary School on Saturday, April 22. The Tertiary Ladies’ team took two first place positions in the Small Flag and Mace Group categories. The Junior Team entered two teams into the Small Pom Group category, and the senior girls participated in the Small Pom and Baton Group categories.

Head coach Elmarie Samuel said they are grateful for their very first results as their hard work paid off.
“We had been actively asking for donations for uniforms, and a local company came through. Our girls looked beautiful in their uniforms, and their performances were outstanding. Though not all teams made it to the top three spots, we are happy and looking forward to the next competition in July.”
Samuel extended an invitation to ladies who would like to be part of the club.
“The Junior and Tertiary Ladies’ teams practise at Ashley Sports Club in Pinetown. The Seniors practise at the Hillcrest High School sports grounds on Inanda Road,” she said.
