Holah Baby Home charity shop moves to Waterfall
Waterfall is the new spot for the Holah Baby Home Charity Shop.
CONTINUING with child safety, the Holah Baby Home has moved their Charity Hop Shop to Waterfall. Registered as a place of safety, the baby home cares for 12 to 14 children, with the number fluctuating.
The organisation works alongside child protection organisations, the South African Police Service and hospitals and have dedicated themselves to care for these babies until suitable adoptive families can be found or reunification with their family can happen.

“We ensure, as far as possible, that all our children with disabilities have the specialised treatment and therapy they need to reach their full potential. Currently, six of our children have severe cerebral palsy, so their needs are very specialised and require wheelchairs, special chairs, walking frames, alternative communication systems and more. They also require daily therapy with our in-house therapist, weekly visits from our movement therapist and monthly visits from our physiotherapist.
“At HOLAH, we are passionate about providing a loving homely environment for the little ones in our care, giving them everything we can to ensure they meet their milestones and thrive. We want to give them the best start possible by meeting their basic needs as well as showering them with all the love and nurture that they deserve. An important focus is the forming of bonds with all their caregivers and the regular volunteers. The ‘House of Love and Hope’ is not in name only. We passionately live into the name every single day,” stated the home.
To fund their purpose, Holah Baby Home has a charity shop that sells pre-loved clothes and items, and the shop has recently moved to Waterfall.

“The charity shop helps in running expenses and helps keep the home warm for our residents.
“We have had the charity shop in Glenwood for a few years, but with all our activities being here in the Upper Highway area, we thought it would make sense to bring the shop up here,” said Kim Brown who is the co-founder of Holah Baby Home.
The community is invited to join the Holah Baby Home in their quest to save children by either donating to the charity shop and/or shop. The shop is located on 38 David Drive in Waterfall and operates from Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00, and Saturdays, 09:00 to 14:00.
