Transforming Gillitts Primary School

Gillitts Primary School continues with projects to upgrade their premises.

LED by Gillitts Primary School principal Arti Jadoo, the school’s team aims to raise funds to continue building their school. With the handover of their new classroom, Jadoo said they are looking to build more classrooms of the same calibre.

“We have been blessed with two beautiful foundation phase classrooms, fitted with all the bells and whistles all boys and girls need. My vision is for us to build two more classes so that we have a new foundation phase block accommodating all our foundation phase learners.

“Further, it has been years of talk and planning for the erection of our school hall which has come into fruition, whereby the plans have been passed by the Department of Education,” she explained.

Over the years, Jardoo said they have raised approximately R11 million and transformed the school into a school of spirituality, educating learners in a safe, clean, happy and aesthetically pleasing environment – an environment conducive to effective teaching and learning.

“I can, with pride and conviction, state that, together with our committed members of SGB, my dedicated staff, parents and our many sponsors, we have achieved great success despite a variety of challenges. Hence, in 2019, we were awarded ‘Top Performing School in the Circuit’ by the Minister of Education. It is our greatest accolade,” she added.

“We desperately need funds of approximately R2.5 million to make these projects a reality. Our beautiful school is testament to the fact that we appreciate and respect all who have sponsored us. Our gratitude is shown by ensuring that all that is sponsored is taken care of,” she said.
