Fun day fest at Gillitts Primary School

Gillitts Primary School learners end the first term on a fun note.

GILLITTS Primary School principal Arti Jadoo is grateful to the school’s community for a successful fun day. On March 15, learners in Gillitts Primary School were treated outside in their school field with inflated jumping castles and face paintings while they enjoyed music and fun games.

Jadoo said this is one of their most anticipated fundraiser events in the first-term school calendar.

“The day is aimed to treat our learners to a day of fun. As a school that serves an impoverished community, we rely on sponsorship, and we believe this year’s fun day was a success because of the support we received,” she said.

Jadoo said the staff members at the school teamed up and worked together for the day to be a success.

“One of our staff members helped with getting sponsorship with food, and we were sponsored with hotdogs by Checkers. Most of the things were sponsored – the parents also brought in chips and lollipops. These are the things that are sold so we can raise funds and complete projects in our school,” she said.

Jadoo said they are grateful to the teachers, parents and sponsors who showed their support to make this day possible.
