Take note of M13 closure at Kassier Road

The M13 at Kassier Road will be closed to facilitate the safe pouring of the concrete deck for the new Kassier Road bridge.

THE eThekwini Municipality has announced that the M13 at Kassier Road is closed till 15:00 this afternoon, (Wednesday, July 10). The City reported this morning that the closure of the road is to facilitate the safe pouring of the concrete deck for the new Kassier Road bridge. 

“Both sides of the M13 will be closed at Kassier Road so that no vehicles travel under the bridge during the pouring process.

 “Kassier Road will remain open in both directions but all vehicles will be diverted onto the on and off ramps across Kassier Road and back onto the M13,” stated the city.

They further reported that It is estimated that approximately 700m³ of concrete will be poured on the day. 

“This will facilitate the new bridge over the M13 and ultimately two lanes of traffic and pedestrian walkways in both directions along Kassier Roadd.”

Commuters are advised to use the Shongweni Road on and off ramps from the M13 or access Kassier Road via the N3.
