Little Life Workshop empowers new and expectant mothers

Life Crompton hospital hosted a workshop for expecting mothers to help them through their journey.

NEW and expectant mothers were given valuable insights to guide them through pregnancy and early motherhood at the Little Life Pregnancy and Baby Workshop at Life Crompton Hospital recently. The event featured a line-up of industry experts, including obstetricians, specialist paediatricians, and healthcare professionals who provided expert advice on various aspects of maternal and infant health.

Hospital Manager Zakiya Essa welcomed attendees and commended them for taking an important step in preparing for their journey into motherhood. “We continuously upgrade and improve our facilities to meet your needs, including hosting workshops like these to ensure you feel supported throughout your pregnancy and beyond,” she told the group of mothers and fathers.

Dr. Sunkaran Pillay led the discussions, focusing on how mothers can prepare for childbirth through proper nutrition, physical wellbeing, and emotional health. “A mother’s overall health plays a crucial role in both pregnancy and delivery,” he emphasised.

Other notable speakers included Sr. Didi Phofa, the Women’s Health Unit Manager, audiologist Mandy Pillay, specialist paediatrician Dr. Asmika Gokhul, and Candice Moodliar, who presented on the benefits of baby massage.

The event concluded with lucky draws and a tour of the hospital’s maternity unit, leaving attendees more informed and confident about their journey into parenthood.
