House break-in suspects apprehended in Gillitts

Two suspects linked to break-ins in Gillitts and Kloof were caught hiding in a nearby road after Blue Security responded to alarm activations and community alerts.

TWO suspects believed to be behind a series of attempted break-ins in Edward Drive, Gillitts, were apprehended on Sunday night following a co-ordinated response by Blue Security teams.

According to reports, the company received multiple alarm notifications along with messages on a local security WhatsApp group alerting them to suspicious activity in the area.

“Dedicated patrol vehicles from Gillitts Park responded, with support from a tactical unit and the area manager. After an extensive search, the suspects were located hiding in Tudor Road by a tactical officer. They were found in possession of several house break-in tools,” said the Blue Security team.

Hillcrest SAPS attended the scene and took the suspects into custody. Further investigations have linked the duo to an earlier break-in at a business in Kloof.
