Atholl Heights Primary awarded for recycling

The school was awarded R15000 towards school improvements, which its eco-team won in the DSW Recycling Competition.

THE Atholl Heights Primary School Eco-Team proudly took part in the DSW Recycling Competition recently, competing alongside approximately 64 other schools in a shared effort to promote environmental responsibility and sustainability.

The competition challenged schools to collect and recycle as much paper, plastic and tin waste as possible.

With enthusiastic support from learners and staff across the school, Atholl Heights recycled almost three tons of waste.

A standout achievement was the school’s exceptional collection of plastic, which earned first place in the plastic recycling category.

As a result of this effort, the school was awarded R15 000 towards school improvements.

This achievement reflects the commitment and teamwork of the Atholl Heights community and highlights the positive impact that small actions can have when everyone works together towards a common goal.
