PATHWAYS Special Needs School was delighted to welcome East Coast Radio personality Darren Maule and his wife, Anna, to the school this week as part of Maule’s school badge collection journey.

The visit began with a warm Pathways welcome, as learners proudly presented Maule with an official Pathways school badge to add to his growing blazer collection.

The children had great fun preparing for the visit by listening briefly to Maule on the radio before drawing pictures of how they imagined Maule and his wife would look.

Their creativity brought plenty of smiles when the couple finally arrived.

The celebration continued with a lively welcome from the learners, who greeted Maule and his wife with music, dancing and enthusiastic cheers.

As a special keepsake, the children also presented them with Pathways school hats.

Following the presentation, the Maules spent time touring the school, visiting each classroom and meeting the learners and staff.

Their genuine interest, warmth and willingness to interact with every child made the visit a memorable experience for everyone.

“We are incredibly grateful to Darren and Anna for taking the time to visit our school,” said Dawn Claassens, principal of Pathways.

“Our learners loved meeting them, and it was wonderful to see the joy and excitement their visit brought to our school community.”
