Join educational walk at Durban Botanic Gardens

To mark the start of the Environmental Education and Public Awareness Network's eThekwini Enviro Week, the Durban Botanic Gardens will be hosting a walkabout the gardens this Saturday at 09:00.

THE Durban Botanic Gardens (DBG) Education Sector is inviting the residents of eThekwini to join one of their seasoned guides, Christine Sole, for a walkabout the gardens from 09:00 to 11:00 on Saturday, June 1.

According to Christine Sole, this significant date marks the beginning of the Environmental Education and Public Awareness Network’s week-long campaign, eThekwini Enviro Week. “The Environmental Education and Public Awareness Network (EEPAN) is involved in environmental education and promoting public awareness about the importance of our natural environments, the challenges of climate change and how people can act to mitigate the destructive weather conditions that follow. The eThekwini Enviro Week will run from June 1 to June 9,” said Sole.

“The walk will encompass stations in the Durban Botanic Gardens where we will focus on the free services that nature provides and work being done in formal and informal areas of our city to create a caring attitude and effect a healthy environment for all,” said the local guide.
