Man dies in Hammarsdale head-on collision

The driver of the car was declared dead on the scene while the truck driver sustained moderate injuries.

A MAN has died in a serious head-on collision, which happened on the Hammarsdale main road just off the N3.

ALS Paramedics spokesperson, Garrith Jamieson said paramedics found total carnage at the accident scene as a truck had collided with a light motor vehicle.

“The driver of the car, who was the only occupant was found severely entrapped in the wreckage. Rescue workers and the eThekwini Fire Department used Jaws of Life to cut the man free.

“Unfortunately there was nothing paramedics could for him, he was declared dead on scene,” said Jamieson.

The truck driver sustained moderate injuries.
