“I believe that prevention of crime is everyone’s business, and together with the community, working hand in hand, crime will decrease. I strongly believe in team work and if we stand together, nothing can divide us,” she said.

Sihlangu encouraged police and the community to work closely together to solve problems of crime.

The dedicated station commander has already met the Community Police Forum executive committee and said she is excited to be working with such a vibrant and active community.

“I am impressed that there are structures in place and are working well with that one common goal, and that is to stand united in fighting crime to protect and serve the community of Westville.”

Sihlangu is a passionate policewoman who believes it is important to not only serve her country and its communities but to also be there for her family.

“I attribute my success to my supportive family environment and my spiritual faith that has sustained me in all challenges and victories.”

Westville SAPS management and members said they are looking forward to sharing this journey with Colonel Sihlangu and are committed to supporting her 100%.

Sanelisiwe Tsinde

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
