One of the organisers, Priscilla Kleyntjies, said each year the World of Miniatures Fair creates a prize to be won on the day at the fair.

“The first one is a ‘She Shed’ which is made by all the members. The second prize is donated.”

The theme this year is Cinematography and the public will see displays of movies in miniatures.

“Some of our displays are from films, TV series or theatre shows such as Minions, Jaws, Shrek, Phantom of the Opera, Star Wars, Mamma Mia, Little Shop of Horrors and My Fair Lady to name a few.”

Kleyntjies said radio presenter Dave Gusselli will also be part of the day.

“We have a multitude of Durban stall holders this year and even some miniature clubs from Gauteng and Cape Town in attendance.

Kleyntjies encouraged people to not miss the show which is suitable for all.

“There is a fantastic group of stall holders, a massive train layout to admire and plenty of sale tables for miniaturists.”

A coffee station and a popcorn cart will also be available,

Entrance fee is R10 and children under two years enter for free.

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
