Stapleton Bridge to reopen later on Thursday

The councillor says road markings will be done and that next week they will follow up with the contractor on outstanding work.

AFTER a delay, the Stapleton Bridge could be re-opened some time on Thursday, July 10, according to Ward councillor Melanie Brauteseth.

The bridge had been estimated to be re-opened by Wednesday but a delay, with re-tarring getting underway on Thursday, drove this back.

Stapleton Bridge after construction was done.

“The good news is that speaking with officials, the road will be open later today. Just waiting for road markings to be done. I will follow up with the contractor next week for outstanding scope of work,” said the councillor.

The bridge was closed earlier in June due to structural instability.

Meanwhile, the Stapleton Road project has suffered a delay to around the end of July.
