Watch: Pinetown SAPS members take pride in tradition

Heritage Day 2025 at Pinetown Police Station was a joyous celebration of teamwork, pride, and cultural diversity, leaving members with lasting memories of a lively, colourful, and flavour-filled event.

PINETOWN Police Station came alive on Friday as members gathered to celebrate Heritage Day, showcasing South Africa’s rich cultural diversity.

The station hall was decorated with displays representing different cultural traditions. The day was filled with music, dance, and cuisine, bringing colleagues together in a festive atmosphere.

Mitta Mkhize, Sergeant Ntokozo Dludla, Nokukhanya Biyela, Lieutenant Colonel Khumbulani Mhlongo and Sicelo Zulu promote the Zulu culture

Entering the hall, one could smell the aroma of freshly prepared dishes.

Attendees were treated to an energetic Zulu dance and a vibrant Bollywood-style performance.

The station communications officer, Jeniffer Naidu, said one culture served meals on banana leaves, offering an authentic traditional dining experience.

‘Other members prepared a variety of dishes, including slow-cooked potjie, usu, yams, biryani, fish and chips, and a selection of sweets such as milk tart, vermicelli, pappat, and malva pudding.
