Enjoy a musical afternoon

Heather Dix, Lionel Mkhwanazi and Trevor Thomas are the three performers that will entertain the guests on the day.

ENJOY an afternoon of unusual light classical music at the Glenwood Presbyterian Church, 339 Esther Roberts Road, on Saturday, October 11 at 14:30.

“This will be a wonderful afternoon for all who enjoy classical and classic music,” said organiser Heather Dix.

Dix, Lionel Mkhwanazi and Trevor Thomas are the three performers that will entertain the guests on the day.

“It’s not often you get to hear a recital of piano, voice and guitar, like this,” said Dix.

Dix is a well-known piano teacher and performer in the Pinetown, Westville and Durban areas. She will be performing well-known and loved Classics by Bach and Mendelssohn, as well as Claire de Lune by Debussy. She will also play some light classics such as The Entertainer by Scott Joplin.

Mkhwanazi is the senior lecturer at the Opera School at KZN, namely OSCA. He will perform beautiful vocal works, including The Holy City and You Raise Me Up. As a bonus, two of Mkhwanazi’s vocal students will perform works, including The Prayer.

Thomas, a classical guitar teacher, will perform classical guitar pieces including Asturias by Albeniz and Romanza (Anon). Thomas will be joined by another guitarist for duets in the second half.

The coffee shop will be open for guests to grab a cappuccino or cold drink at the interval or before the show.
