Multiple children injured after truck rear-ends scholar transport

Paramedics says about 10 children were injured when a truck rear-ended a taxi which was transporting them near Kassier Road in Hillcrest.

MULTIPLE children were injured after a truck rear-ended a taxi which was transporting scholars.

ALS Paramedics’ Garrith Jamieson said the accident happened just after  07:15 today (October 27) on the M13, Durban bound, near Kassier Road in Hillcrest.

“Paramedics arrived on the scene to find chaos as they found that a truck had rear-ended a scholar taxi, leaving multiple children injured. Immediately more ambulances and Advanced Life Support Paramedics were dispatched to assist with the multiple casualty scene. A total of 10 children had sustained various injuries and once stabilised on the scene they were transported to various Durban hospitals for the further care that they required.

Paramedics have said a truck rear-ended a taxi which was transporting scholars.

“At this stage the events leading up to the crash are unknown, however, Metro Police were in attendance and will be investigating further,” said Jamieson.
