WATCH: Field rangers celebrate donation of essential equipment

Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife rangers at Krantzkloof Nature Reserve received a donation of boots, socks, and torches to support their vital conservation work.

EZEMVELO KZN Wildlife field rangers could not contain their excitement on Saturday, October 25, when they received a donation of “essential equipment”.

Principal field ranger Phumlani Dlamini welcomed the donation of new boots, socks and torches for the staff at the Krantzkloof Nature Reserve.

“For field rangers, uniforms are very important because it is through uniforms that people can identify us and it is important that we are visible and seen as presentable. This is very, very big, we say thank you for the donation, it means a lot to us,” said an elated Dlamini.

The chairperson of the Krantzkloof honorary officers, Gareth Morgan, said the donated items are “an essential piece of equipment” for the rangers.

Morgan said the donation from Adviceworx highlights a relationship the reserve has had with the company since 2023 when the former began assisting with maintaining the Kloof Falls picnic site.

“This is a thoughtful donation which shows that Adviceworx is considerate of the community and it will have a big impact for the reserve and the rangers. I would like to send a big thank you from the honorary officers and the reserve,” said Morgan.

“It is of incredible value,” said Bekker, who added that more support for the reserve was also coming from the community at large and the informal sector.

Johan Fouché, financial planning partner at Adviceworx, said the company hoped that with the donation it could “play a small part in making your daily tasks more comfortable and a little easier”.
