Pinetown SAPS are investigating after the body of an unidentified man was found on the N3 near Pinetown, police appeal for information.

THE Pinetown SAPS have initiated investigations after a body of an unknown man was found on the N3 near Pinetown.

The station’s communications officer Jennifer Naidu said the body was found on Thursday, January 29, at approximately 11:00 after police had received reports about the body lying on the road.

“Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the body of an unknown African male, whose age is unknown. Preliminary information suggests that the deceased may have been knocked down by multiple vehicles. The man was wearing a yellow T-shirt and blue jeans, which were ripped.

“The deceased was certified dead at the scene. A case has been opened for investigation.

“Anyone who may have information that could assist police in identifying the deceased or the circumstances surrounding the incident is urged to contact Pinetown Police Station. The investigating officer is Detective Constable Sheik, who can be contacted on 074 262 5973. Any information will be welcomed,” said Naidu.
