THE Westville SAPS station commander, Colonel Sharon Zamantungwa Sihlangu, has applauded her officers for their continuous efforts of removing drugs from the local streets.

This after the station’s crime prevention team on Friday, February 27, swiftly arrested a suspect who was allegedly in possession of cocaine.

The station’s communications officer, Sergeant Zwelethu Khathi, said the suspect, a 28-year-old man, was arrested at around 23:15 in the parking lot of a local bar in the Westville CBD.

Khathi said the suspect was spotted by Westville SAPS members who were on patrol who “noticed a male acting very suspiciously”.

“A stop and search was conducted. Upon searching the 28-year-old male, members found him in possession of two large bags of narcotics, cocaine. He was detained at Westville SAPS for further investigation,” said Khathi.

Sihlangu applauded the members for their excellent work and encouraged them to continue making arrests and taking drugs off the streets.
