SAPS Passover service offers spiritual support
SAPS members were urged to always pray, keep the faith and believe in God even during difficult and challenging times.
THE SAPS Pinetown Cluster held a Passover celebration and prayer service at the New Season’s Ministries on Friday (March 20).
Pinetown SAPS communications officer Jennifer Naidu said the Easter service, which was led by Chaplain Reverend Nkosinathi E Sokhulu from the Pinetown SAPS Employee Health and Wellness, was for providing spiritual support to members.
Outlining the purpose for the service, Naidu quoted Scripture and concluded by urging SAPS members to “believe and may we seize glory today”.
Reverend Sokhulu gave a sermon on Jesus Christ’s journey from Gethsemane to Golgotha and the events leading to his crucifixion, drawing lessons that SAPS members should keep the faith and to pray regardless of any challenges they may face.

Sokhulu also counseled members to learn from Jesus’ betrayal by Judas Iscariot that not all who proclaim love, laugh with and smile at them are sincere.
“Even Judas betrayed Jesus but God was still with Christ,” preached the reverend.
His closing word urged SAPS members to “carry your cross and follow Jesus” even in the face of curses and mockery.
The service, where the seven sayings of Jesus Christ on the cross were read, was attended by SAPS members from Westville and KwaDabeka, among other stations.
