Welfare society appeals for support to improve office facilities

The NPO needs help securing prefabricated office structures after being forced to move from their current building due to safety concerns.

FOLLOWING a directive to move from their offices, the Pinetown-Highway Child and Family Welfare Society is appealing to businesses, organisations, and community members for assistance in securing prefabricated office structures.

The welfare society has been forced to move from Livingstone Road because the building it currently uses does not meet Occupational Health and Safety specifications.

The welfare society, which will move to its new premises in a few weeks, has been in existence for more than nine decades and provides services to vulnerable children and families in the greater Pinetown area.

As a long-standing NPO dedicated to child protection and family support services, the society’s personal assistant Nallini Munian said it continues to experience increasing demand for counselling, a full range of child protection services, supervision of children in care, family preservation programmes, and community outreach initiatives.

Due to limited office space at the new premises, Munian explained that the organisation urgently requires prefabricated offices as well as partitioning for office areas to create confidential and functional workspaces for social workers, counsellors, and administrative staff.

“These improvements are essential in ensuring privacy during consultations and creating a safe, professional environment for both staff and beneficiaries.

“We are committed to serving children and families with dignity and professionalism, but our current office setup limits our ability to provide confidential and efficient services,” she said.

“Any donation, sponsorship, or partnership towards prefabricated structures, building materials, partitioning, or installation services would make a meaningful difference,” added Munian.

The organisation welcomes support in the form of:

Prefabricated office units
Drywall or glass partitioning
Building materials
Office refurbishment assistance
Sponsorships or financial donations
Professional installation services
Community support plays a vital role in helping welfare organisations continue their essential work and critical services. By improving office infrastructure, Pinetown-Highway Child and Family Welfare Society will be better equipped to respond to the growing needs of vulnerable children and families within the community.

She encouraged businesses or individuals willing to assist to contact her on 031 002 6124 or e-mail pinetowncws@mweb.co.za.

My name is Sanelisiwe Tsinde, and I'm a mother of two boys and very family-oriented. Being a community journalist for years, I can proudly say I love writing about positive community news articles and giving a voice to the voiceless. Seeing people getting assistance warms my heart. Every day is a different challenge and a new learning opportunity. I supply news for our trusted publication weekly, and a few years ago, Caxton ventured into online publication, so I contribute daily to the websites. I could say I am a multimedia journalist, and working in a community newspaper is beneficial as we do not focus on one thing but we do a bit of everything.
