Miniature enthusiasts turn trash to treasure

The Durban Association of Miniature Enthusiasts hosted a fantastic day at their annual miniature fair, showcasing incredible talent and creativity. Visitors enjoyed displays, vendors, and exhibits.

THE Durban Association of Miniature Enthusiasts (DAME) recent annual miniature fair brought together miniature enthusiasts, hobbyists, collectors, vendors, and visitors for a wonderful day celebrating the art of miniatures and scale modelling.

Visitors enjoyed a wide variety of displays, including the outstanding work of DAME’s own members, whose creativity and craftsmanship showcased the remarkable talent within the local miniature community.

Co-chairperson Paula Visser said they were delighted to welcome vendors and exhibitors from across SA, including participants who travelled from Gauteng.

“Whether you travelled from near or far, thank you for spending the day with us. Your support and enthusiasm helped make the event such a success.

“A special thank you goes to the Durban Historical Group, Roving Rails, the Durban Bonsai Society, and IPMS for once again joining us and helping to showcase the world in scale model size.”

This year, DAME was also proud to support Reach for Recovery, a breast cancer support organisation, as their chosen charity.

The committee extended its appreciation to everyone who contributed to a memorable and enjoyable event at the Westville Country Club and looked forward to welcoming exhibitors, hobbyists, and visitors back next year.
