Kearsney duo shine at Grant Khomo Week 

Kearsney College rugby stars Aliphe Madikizela and Kai East shone in the Sharks' unbeaten run at the FNB U16 Grant Khomo Week.

KEARSNEY College’s Aliphe Madikizela and Kai East proudly represented the Sharks at the FNB U16 Grant Khomo Week, helping their team to an unbeaten tournament after winning all three of their matches.

East delivered an outstanding performance in the Sharks’ second fixture and was named Man of the Match.

The tournament finished on Friday, with SA Rugby set to announce an Early Player Development Squad, selected from the standout performers across the competition.

The Sharks XV were one of only three unbeaten teams at the tournament, alongside the Lions and Leopards, after ending their campaign with a convincing 54-7 victory over Boland.

On the final day, the Valke, Border Country Districts, Griquas, Free State, South Western Districts and Western Province all recorded victories to finish their tournaments on a positive note.

The Jukskei Derby provided a thrilling finale as the Lions staged a remarkable second-half comeback to defeat the Blue Bulls 33-21.
