Sofia bags titles in tennis
Grade 10 tennis ace Sofia Kamalie clinched doubles titles at KZN Mini 5 and 6, an U16 singles title, and won six of seven matches as No.1 for eThekwini A at the Inter-District Tournament.
SOFIA Kamalie has been making waves in the tennis world with her impressive performances across various tournaments.
The Star College Grade 10 learner’s recent achievements include outstanding results at the KZN Mini Tournaments and the Inter-District Tournament.
At the KZN Mini 5, from July 31 to August 2, Sofia competed in the Women’s category in singles and doubles. Although she missed the singles title, losing in the final in the third set, she triumphed in the Women’s Doubles, claiming the title in the third set.
Just two weeks later, at KZN Mini 6 (August 14-16), Sofia competed in the U16 section. She won the singles final in a thrilling third set and secured the doubles title in straight sets.

“Her impressive streak continued at the Inter-District Tournament, where she played in the U19A eThekwini Team. As the team’s No. 1 player, Sofia won six out of seven matches, helping eThekwini A secure second place overall.
