Find rare treasures at Highway Hospice charity shop auction
From antique plates to vintage furniture, the Highway Hospice's silent auction will see proceeds support palliative patient care.
FOR those who love antiques, history and the excitement of discovering something unusual, visit the Highway Hospice Pinetown Charity Shop and find a hidden treasure – their silent auction is underway.
The auction started on September 12 and will close on September 19.
Shop manager Janine Gous said there is a collection of vintage pieces, each one unique, unusual, and full of antique charm.

She explained that all the auction items are donated by the community and the funds raised are used to support palliative patient care, helping patients and their families through comprehensive care and emotional support during a very difficult time.
“Among the treasures that will be auctioned are 18th century plates with unique signage, paintings, toys, glassware, furniture and musical instruments.
“There are so many interesting and unique items that come through the shop, and some are things you just don’t find anymore,” said Gous.
She also invited the public to continue supporting the the shop which sells quality preloved items.
“We also welcome donations. The public can drop them off or they can be collected on selected days.”
The Highway Hospice Charity Shop on 5 Butts Road in Pinetown is open Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 15:45, and Saturdays, 08:30 to 11:45. The shop can be contacted on 031 701 4726 for more details.
