A TRUCK driver has died following a serious crash on the M7 Pinetown-bound near the Hans Dettman off-ramp.

According to ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson the incident happened at around 11:45 today (Monday, September 21), with emergency services responding to the overturned truck.

Jamieson said the man, believed to be the driver of the truck, was freed from the carnage before midday.

“He had sustained fatal injuries. At this stage there’s no other people reported injured or deceased in the truck,” he said.

At 12:30 Jamieson advised that the scene remains active, with emergency services and other relevant roleplayers still in attendance.

“The scene is still active and will be for some time. All necessary roleplayers are in attendance. Motorists are advised to approach the area with caution while emergency personnel continue working at the scene,” said Jamieson.
