EDITOR – Over the past couple of weeks the Internet news and the local papers have been alive with the disgustingly cruel story of the dog that was beaten to death. This past week the individual responsible for the cruelty and death of “man’s best friend” was invited to court and graciously handed a warning!
My blood is boiling with such anger and rage, and total disgust. I hate the thought that I fall into the same classification of “human being” just like him. Whatever happened to justice, fairness and punishment to fit the crime?
What message are we handing over to the general public? How many times prior to being “caught out” has he done this and how many more times will this happen again?
I ask myself time and time again – Why do we have these wonderful societies known as Animal Anti Cruelty League, SPCA or Paws and Claws, who solely survive on volunteers who give up their time and love to try and make a difference, with cases like this?
We need to wake up and make a difference before it is too late.
