Explore SA with travel guide handbook

Sunday Times columnists, Claire Keeton and Marianne Schwankhart's, new travel-guide will inspire almost anyone to get out and experience what South Africa has to offer.

SOUTH Africa is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, but many will never explore half of what it has to offer.

Fortunately, Claire Keeton and Marianne Schwankhart, travel and adventure columnists for the Sunday Times, co-wrote a travel guide handbook, Wild Weekends: Places to go, things to do, for both experienced and novice adventurers .

The well thought out handbook provides readers with a collection of 34 weekend destinations and adventure activities that are available in South Africa. It is extremely methodical and easy to use. Keeton and Schwankhart divided the book into two sections: weekends and activities. You can either pick a destination, and read about the various activities available at the destination, or pick an activity and read about the destinations that offer it.

The detailed book also provides pricing, contact information, issues you might encounter, important information to remember or consider, and a suggestion of the ideal times to travel or attempt the desired activities.

The adventure duo’s passion is clearly evident in every chapter in the book, and slowly becomes more and more infectious with every page. The beautiful photographs are equally inspiring, and will definitely leave the most seasoned ‘couch-potato’ itching for some fresh air and adventure.
