Good service is hard to find

Reader disappointed by Mariannhill Licencing Department.

EDITOR – It is with great disappointment that I write to you regarding the Mariannhill Licencing Department. On arrival at 2.15pm, on Wednesday 30 April, the doors were locked although the closing time is 2.30pm. About 20 irate members of the public asked why this was so as the closing time was not for another 15 minuntes.

The guards were informed that it was busy inside so, on the manager’s instruction, they were asked to lock out any prospective customers. Many people had left, yet no one was allowed entry. On the eve of an important election one wonders about service delivery and the sheer inept arrogance of those that are employed to serve the public. Frustration and the helplessness of not being able to be heard and assisted is indicative of the disregard for the public and the masses that vote. I’m totally disillusioned with this department.
