EDITOR – The Woodside Security Association would like to thank Keneth Mabila and Nick Liebenberg of the eThekwini Natural Resources for their action and assistance in our conservancy, which had become overgrown and plagued with alien vegetation and a threat to the neighbourhood’s security.
A controlled burn was organised and our once dormant conservancy is now being more actively managed by the Woodside Conservancy committee and residents, who are working toward restoring it to a natural grassland free from alien and invasive species.
Notable assistance in dealing with this issue that has plagued us for a couple of years was also received from Tim Brauteseth, our previous councillor in Ward 18.
We would also like to extend a grateful thank you to our present ward councillor, Bruce Sutcliffe, who was instrumental in ridding the conservancy of the illegal dumping of ashphalt, during and after the re-furbishing of roads outside of our area. There was more than 500sqm of debris cleared away within 48 hours after he intervened on our behalf.
