EDITOR – When will human beings become conscious that we are the custodians of this planet and all who inhabit it?

All animals were born having the right to be free, and to put them in cages, boxes or any other receptacle is terribly inhumane. If only we could put ourselves in their position for a day and I wonder if we would be more compassionate. In this technological age, surely we could educate our young people about the correct manner in which our animals should be living and learn about their behaviour in their proper habitat.

Yes Cheryl, we all make mistakes, but not at the expense of anything that does not have the right or ability to have a choice of how they want to live.

As Gandhi said: “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way that its animals are treated.”
