Keep us updated on road upgrades

Concerned Hillcrest resident requests that authorities keep residents updated on the progress of upgrades.

Editor – Instead of the new upgraded Inanda Road making it easier for motorists commuting to and from the Hillcrest Centre to the Waterfall Centre, it has become confusing, unsightly and dangerous. In fact, it is nothing short of a disgrace.

Apart from the urgent need to install traffic lights at the major intersections such as Inanda and Westriding Roads, to avoid dangerous accidents arising from confusion/negligence, the authorities who are responsible for the construction on this road have, after almost three months now, failed to tar the pavements and have left rubble on the incomplete centre island.

In addition, when approaching Westriding Road, travelling in the direction of Waterfall, they have inconvenienced motorists by blocking the right hand lane with beacons.

One can understand the cordoning off of a section of this road, if construction is actively taking place, but there appears to be no activity taking place along this section of the road whatsoever.

Can the authorities responsible for the upgrade of Inanda Road please inform the public about what is happening regarding its completion?
