EDITOR – I have asked and pleaded with the Westville Parks Department to remove the alien plants on a verge in Chesham Place off Aylesbury Road for about three years. Has this area even been assessed? A range of alien species is growing in the ditch nearly 100 metres long and now balloon vine is covering the canopy entirely.
It is also a security risk – a perfect place to hide stolen goods and people and an extremely embarrassing eyesore for Westville residents.
When I see the parks trucks in Westville, they are usually just cutting down a few overhanging branches. Who is responsible for the deterioration of this area?
