I object to buying bags for recycling

"I cannot understand why there is such a problem with the supply of these bags."

FURTHER to my recent post on the lack of recycling bags, I thought you would be interested to know I will be putting out two bags of recyclables today.

On Tuesday, 20 February, my husband managed to catch the recycle truck as it went past our house.

He asked them for both orange and clear bags and was told they would bring some “tomorrow “.

Needless to say they never arrived, as I have not received recycle bags I will put them out in black bags today. I cannot understand why there is such a problem with the supply of these bags; if they can supply black bags they should be able to supply other colours, a glance at the shelves in any supermarket proves that coloured bags are available.

As we are already forced to buy blue bags for garden refuse at R75 for 12, I object to buying bags for recycling, because besides paying rates I’m charged R128 a month for refuse removal, not to mention the fact that the recycling company is benefiting from my recycling.
