LEANDRO Nicolas Gerardo, a Pinetown Boys’ High School Old Boy is in fact a hero to many for his efforts in the recent Thai Cave Rescue Mission where 12 young soccer boys and their coach were trapped in a cave after heavy rainfall in the area.
According to reports Leandro heard about the incident and being an advanced diver himself, he immediately took leave from his work in Bangkok to go and assist with the rescue mission. An unselfish act of absolute kindness and humanity at its best.
Special thanks also goes out to a fellow PBHS Old Boy, Dwayne Saunders who made the whole world aware of the awesome South African and fellow class mate, Leandro who helped in this rescue mission.
Well done Leandro! We are very proud of the gentleman you have become.
