Pot calling kettle black

A reader has accused the Democratic Alliance of political bullying.

IT seems very ironic that the Democratic Alliance is enforcing Section 107 of the Electoral Act in the Western Cape, complaining that a number of the smaller political parties are not compliant with their posters.

This in that there is no reference on the election posters as to publisher, sponsor or printer.

However, here in the Highway area the DA is leading all political parties with quantity of posters adorning telephone and light poles – however for all their variety – not one has any detail of printer, sponsor or publisher.

This to me smacks of political bullying.

May I suggest that before the Western Cape pursues this matter further, they remove all of their posters in our area, or else ensure that they comply before continuing in “nit-picking” in its greatest form.

If any DA official would like to speak to me about this matter, contact the Highway Mail for my details. I await your call.
