HCA girls celebrate vaulting achievement
Curro Hillcrest Christian Academy pupils took part in the Group 9 Africa Vaulting Cup in Johannesburg.
GABRIELLA Olivier and Tauryn Gild, both pupils at Curro Hillcrest Christian Academy, took part in the Group 9 Africa Vaulting Cup held at the Lipizzaner Indoor Arena at Kyalami Equestrian Park in Johannesburg, during the winter holidays.
Overall, Gabriella and Tauryn excelled at the event, with Gild fifth and Olivier third in Africa in the U14 age group within their grade. Both girls were also part of a six-member mixed team from KZN, which placed second in Africa in the team event.
They received their rosettes from an international panel of vaulting judges from Europe, during an awards dinner .
Gabriella and Tauryn, as well as the rest of the team, willparticipate at the Curro HCA Crestfest, on 23 August, where they will display their routine on a mounted barrel.
Other competing nations included Madagascar, Mauritius and Swaziland.
