Junior teams revel in Sevens tourney

ELEVEN schools competed in the U13 Rugby Sevens Tournament at Hillcrest Christian Academy on Saturday .

The aim of this tournament is to provide opportunities for pupils at junior level to develop their unique talents. This year Curro Holdings, the parent company of all Curro private schools, involved U13 teams in a series similar to the Atlantic Sevens Series established in 2007. These tournaments enjoy the same benefits as the high schools, including inter-provincial participation and TV coverage.

Westville Senior Primary School were crowned champions while Curro HCA were the plate winners. An outstanding all round performance by Joshua Barrett earned him the Player of the Tournament trophy.
