Young riders crest the hill
The Giba Gorge Development Team received donations of Avalanche Bond 27.5 mountain bikes recently.
TOP Pinetown-based BMX cyclists, who are all still at school, have each been sponsored with an Avalanche Bond 27.5 mountain bike to develop their already phenomenal cycling skills.
The riders are all members of the Giba Gorge BMX Development team. According to the team coordinator, Andrea Ward, Avalanche have been pro-active in their recognition of cyclists who are ear-marked to become world class representatives of South Africa in the discipline of BMX and XCO mountain biking.
“They have proven their commitment to BMX cycling over the past year and Avalanche have recognised their skills and dedication by sponsoring them with Avalanche Bond 27.5 Mountain Bikes. This will help the riders improve their riding skills and fitness even further,” said Tyrone Johns, the team coach.
The riders will compete in the KZN Spur Schools Mountain Bike series in 2014 and are also being groomed for internationally acclaimed events at the Cascades in Pietermaritzburg.
