Rugby clinic teaches valuable skills

Hillcrest Villagers Junior Rugby clinic was well attended.

HILLCREST Villagers Junior Rugby Club hosted a highly successful coaching clinic at their home ground at Forest Hills Sports Club.

About 100 boys between the ages of 6 and 11 years attended the clinic which was facilitated by the club coaches. The clinic comprised a series of skills grids which focused on core rugby skills such as passing, kicking, tackling, scrummaging techniques and ball retention.

Thanks to Des Brown of Trellidor Highway, each boy received a T-Shirt, hotdogs and a cool-drink at the end of the skills session and participated in a Tag-Rugby match in each age-group.

The clinic was both enjoyable and informative and each boy came away having enhanced his individual rugby skills as well as having had a fun-filled day.

HVJR would like to thank the sponsors, Trellidor Highway area, VR Print and Waterfall Spar.
