Run with Scratch Club

If you would like to start running, the Scratch Club is the perfect way to help get you started on your journey.

SPRING has sprung and the Chiltern Athletic Club will once again launch its ever popular Scratch Club from Tuesday 9 September from 5.45pm free of charge.

The Scratch Club is a group of runners, or walkers, that are starting the sport from scratch after layoffs, injuries or will be running for the first time. The group trains in a friendly, non-competitive environment, which also offers safety in numbers to runners of all ages, under proper supervision.

It is a carefully graded, incremental programme set over a two month period, with two runs per week.

The objective is to build the confidence of runners so they can participate in a 4km to 8km time trial, or a 15km road race by the end of the programme.

The first run/walk will begin on Tuesday 9 September with the last group run taking place on Thursday 21 November. The group will meet at the Chiltern Athletic Club at the intersection of Fyfe Road and Methven Road in Westville North.
