Kearsney beats Hilton College 4-1

Kearsney College's 1st soccer team had a convincing 4-1 win over visitors Hilton College at the weekend.

KEARSNEY College won most of their fixtures, including all A team matches at the weekend, and the 1st soccer team had a convincing 4-1 win over visitors Hilton College.

The game was evenly contested in the first half. Kearsney’s Thomas Host, took a shot at the box which went through several Hilton players and found the corner of the net, putting hosts Kearsney 1-0 up.

While Hilton had a number of good chances in the first half, they were not converted. Donald de Kramer, in the Kearsney goal post, did well to stop a number of these opportunities. Before half time, Kearsney attacked down the left and crossed the ball into the Hilton goal mouth for Trystan Tanner to score a magnificent diving header and put Kearsney 2-0 up.

In the second half Kearsney closed down the Hilton players and scored two breakaway goals to go 4-0 up. Hilton scored a consolation goal in the dying minutes of the game to leave the final score 4-1.
